Kalee currently lives in La Mirada where she enjoys spending her free time at Disneyland, baseball games, or reading.

Coach Tony Le is the founding Physical Education (PE) teacher for Unity Middle College. He hopes to promote a safe and fun space for students to become physically active. Before Unity, Coach Le worked as the Project Director of the Higher Opportunity Program for Education at UCLA, where he created college outreach and intervention programs for at-risk youth in the OC and greater LA area. Prior to this, Coach Le spent his undergraduate years at the University of California, Berkeley serving in various positions within student-initiated, student-run organizations committed to recruiting and retaining underrepresented and underserved students into higher education.

Coach Le received his Bachelors of Arts in Political Economy, with a concentration in “The Alleviation of Poverty in Urban Communities” at UC Berkeley. Ms. Talbert is ecstatic to meet her future students and their families as we begin our founding year at Unity Middle College High School. Haley, having attended Kennedy Middle College High School, is excited to provide a similar student-focused, rigorous academic experience characterized by genuine care and compassion for her students.

Upon graduating from a Middle College High School with a year of college courses already completed, Haley attended Biola University in La Mirada, California. During her time at Biola, Haley earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Music, as well as a Bachelor of Arts degree in English Education and credential to teach Secondary English. During the completion of her music program, she spent a semester studying songwriting, music recording, and performance arts at the Contemporary Music Center in Nashville, Tennessee.

In her free time, Haley can likely be found outside with good book accompanied by a great cup of coffee. The way to Ms. Talbert’s heart is through her stomach, as she enjoys soft pretzels and Junior Mints. Her favorite authors include F. Scott Fitzgerald, Ernest Hemingway, and Oscar Wilde. In addition to the classics, she is nearly obsessed with the sense of adventure and bravery characterized by J.K. Rowling’s created world in the Harry Potter series. Haley was born and raised in Corona, California, the land of citrus, and is still transported back to her childhood when she smells orange blossoms on a warm spring day. She now resides in Newport Beach, California.

William Gray is a native son of California, having lived in the greater Los Angeles area since he was 12. William attended Palisades Charter High School, a setting that put into stark contrast the gap in educational opportunities afforded children from different neighborhoods within the same city. This experience led him to a career in education driven by a desire to provide children in traditionally underserved communities with the high quality educational opportunities they deserve.

Upon graduation from high school, William elected to attend the University of California Irvine on a Regents Scholarship, graduating with a degree in history in 2008. He returned to UCI to earn his teaching credential in social science and a Masters degree in Teaching.

William brings both charter and district school experience to the position of principal having served as Dean of Academics, Assistant Principal and Interim Principal at school sites in LA and Orange Counties. He has helped guide two charter schools through their renewal processes with the Los Angeles Unified School District & Los Angeles County Office of Education, has a passion for supporting teachers as an instructional coach and is currently working to earn his Leading Edge Certification with the Orange County Department of Education. He currently lives in Long Beach with his wife with whom he enjoys hiking, traveling and reading in his spare time.
