2017-18 School Year Enrollment

If you are a current 9th or 10th grade student and you’d like to attend Unity during this (2017-18) school year, please call the office at (714) 473-0723 or e-mail info@unitymchs.org as we have a few spaces left.

2018-19 School Year Enrollment

Unity Middle College High School will expand to include grades 9, 10 and 11 for the 2018-19 school year. The enrollment process for the 2018-19 school year at Unity Middle College High School has a few steps:

CURRENT STUDENTS

To secure enrollment for the 2018-19 school year, current students must complete an Intent to Return form by February 28, 2018. This form was distributed directly to students during school hours and given to parents during information meetings, when possible. If an Intent to Return form is not received by February 28, 2018, the student’s position will not be held for the next school year.

NEW STUDENTS

  1. Fill out and Submit an Intent to Enroll Form by February 28, 2018

The form is available online here or in our office. If you have any questions or need assistance filling out the form, please contact our office at (714) 473-0723. Return the Intent to Enroll Form to our office by mail, in person or via e-mail: info@unitymchs.org by February 28, 2018.

  1. Public Random Drawing on March 1, 2018

Unity MCHS admits students subject to its capacity. If the number of pupils who wish to attend exceeds the school’s capacity at any grade level, admission shall be determined by public random drawing. The public is welcome to attend the drawing but your presence is not mandatory. Unity MCHS will post the results of the drawing on the front office door and on its website. Information will not be provided over the phone. Students who are not selected via the lottery will be placed on a waitlist and will be notified if space becomes available for their admittance.

Please note that in the event of a lottery, admission preferences shall be given to prospective students in the following order: (a) Siblings of currently enrolled Unity MCHS students; (b) Children of Unity MCHS employees; (c) Students who are currently enrolled in or who reside in the elementary school attendance area of the local public elementary school in which Unity MCHS is located (for purposes of the SB 740 Charter School Facility Grant Program); and (d) District residents. [Per Unity MCHS Charter]

  1. Complete an Enrollment Packet

Admission packets will be available immediately following the public random drawing. This packet requires the following information: US or foreign government-issued identification, immunization records, proof of residency (gas, electric, or phone bill), unofficial transcripts or 8th grade report card, and CELDT scores, if applicable. Admission packets missing any information will be considered incomplete and may not be accepted. Admission packets must be completed and returned to Unity’s office with all required documentation no later than the deadline date specified. Admission will be forfeited if the completed packet is not received by this deadline.

  1. Acceptance

Upon acceptance, new students will receive a letter of acceptance and will be scheduled for a face-to-face meeting with Unity staff and a math placement exam prior to starting school. The face-to-face meeting and math placement exam are not part of the acceptance process. Interviews are used to inform Unity staff with the individual needs and goals of incoming students and families.
